I haven't forgotten about all the work you and Irene did Canice, I'm formatting the screenshots for the Passion for Justiice Tribute, I've also started doing some clips of Awakening Land. I got sidetracked over the long holiday weekend between spending time with my dad and trying to finally organize my closets!

Will be back 'on the job' this week Smile

Don't worry too much Mary Ann. Take your time. I got really side-tracked this long weekend too. Just so many things to do with family... I am back at work already. Sad

I had today off so I spent most of it cleaning out my closets. Not my favorite way to spend a day off but I"m feeling a bit better anyway.

Here in France, in many Protestant homes, we used to clean thoroughtly all the house the day(s) before Easter, to celebrate Christ's Resurrection in a clean and perfect house!! So it is nothing more to clean during several days after!!!!!

Genevieve, I love that concept, about cleaning the house the day before Easter. How awesome. I just love hearing different customs. Thanks for sharing with us. Smile

Oh, I remember another Easter custom: when I was young, and when my children were young, I ( and they ) always wear new clothes for Easter ! Whatever was the weather, we had new and light clothes!!!!! (Luckily, we live in the South!!!) Thinking of that, now, just writing that, I have a smile, and a nostalgic feeling!!!!

That is so sweet Lynn. I used to buy a new dress to wear for church every year, but after realizing that some people couldn't afford new clothes for Easter, I just wear something not quite new now. I just didn't want anyone else to feel bad, and we have a fairley small church running around 150 people. And everyone knows everyone else. It is like a big family, we are all close, rich, middle class, and not so rich. In fact this Easter I wore something I have had for about a month.

I also remember getting a new Easter outfit every year, and it always included a hat! I specifically remember one year, my mother and I had to drive home from "the city" in a terrible snowstorm. Shocked I had to hang out the passenger side window just to look for mailboxes so we wouldn't drive off the road!

Now I never get anything "new" for Easter. I wore slacks and a blue top on Sunday (comfort is the key). It's fun to see all the children in their Easter finery though. Very Happy

I suppose that "dressing way up" is not the norm anymore for Easter. This year my mother took my daughter to pick out an Easter dress, usually she picks just a pink cotton dress with either flowers or polka-dots. Well this year she chose the friliest dress in the store complete with a hat and gloves and of course nana "had" to get the white purse to match! Well when we went to church and took her to her class she was the only one dressed up. None of the other little kids had the "usual" Easter attire on. I always had a nice dress for Easter usually matching my mom! Laughing

I don't think they do anymore either Lynn. At least not where I shop, probably at expensive shops. Wink
