Former "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman" star Jane Seymour's stepping in to replace Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me") definitely put a different spin on the new WB sitcom "Modern Men," debuting March 17, reports co-star Josh Braaten.

"Wendie worked on the pilot with us, then NBC picked up her option on 'Jake in Progress,'" explains Braaten, who plays one of three single buddies who turn in desperation to a relationship coach played by Seymour. "We were going a certain way with Wendie, then Jane comes in and does something completely different. At first, all of us looked at each other and went 'Whoa, OK we're going to have to regroup here.' But Jane does an excellent job. She's actually really funny and has a great flair for comedy. And I think her fans from 'Dr. Quinn' are going to be really pleasantly surprised. She doesn't have the same edginess as Wendie, but she plays this character British, and there's a loftiness to her. She's above the remedial problems and concerns the three of us guys have, so there's a lot of humor to in that."

He adds for Seymour, who actually is a native of the United Kingdom, "there are lots of opportunities for her to use plenty of British slang. In one show, Kyle (Max Greenfield) the womanizer, was thinking of euphemisms for sex like 'Shut the front door,' 'Sink the putt" and Jane's character says, 'Well, I prefer 'Bury the bangers in mash"

Thanks for the article Mary Ann. I guess that is the uniqueness of this series and Jane in it.
