i was watching the eposide where horace was giving a engagment ring to myra , and i had thought that the egagment ring that he had given to her suited micala better .
the one that sully had given to Dr Mike , was suited to to myra , but maybe they wrote the way that they did because of the fact that the one that David had given her was simular to the one that horace had given to myra . HMMMMMMMM

I doubt that there was a lot of variety in engagement rings back in that time period, the way there is now. They all looked very similar to me.

Yes I agreed with Elaine. During the old days, they probably just have one design...

Well i never thought about it until return egangment when i watched it and when Horace wanted to practice what he said with Dr Mike that they showed a up close shot when they put the ring on michela's finger .

of the two rings though the one that sully gave michela is my faverite of the two .
simple but it had a marking of dimomds on a band and center stone love it a lot .

I realize this post is old but I just found it... What kind of bothered me was Horace practiced his proposal on Dr. Mike, placing the ring on her finger and all... But then when he caught up to Myra, he didn't repeat any of it. He just put the ring on her finger and kissed her. I wish he had used his speech - it was very nice. Oh well.

Circumstances had changed somewhat for them, so I think he just wanted to get that ring on her finger with no dilly-dallying. They were in the middle of the street too, so it wasn't the best of places for that speech.

My husband, well ex-husband actually, never really officially proposed to me so I'm not an expert on the subject, but I hear those never go the way the "proposer" had planned...even if they had rehearsed a million times.

My dear husband never proposed to me either! After I was out-of-state for college one year, we just "started talking marriage" and never looked back. I guess it doesn't really matter--we're going on 40 years of marriage.
(He did, however, ask my father if he could give me the ring that he got for me.LOL)

That's how it was with us too - just started talking about it, but I didn't even get a ring. It's no surprise he's my ex now - haha! I guess I shouldn't laugh, but some things about it are rather ironic, and sometimes laughing helps me get through it (we've actually only been divorced since February.) Congratulations on 40 years though - that's really wonderful! My parents are at 36 years now, so I do still have faith that marriage CAN work if it's with the right person!

It's really ok - it was for the best, and I'm actually really relieved about it, and there are a lot of opportunities for me to joke about it without it being in bad taste.

Frankly I was more upset about the lint in the pocket scene between Mike and Sully when he gave her HER engagement ring

Crying or Very sad
