Get ready for Silverman-Arquette smooch celebrities By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
"I told David I would shave and not smoke any cigars," reports Jonathan Silverman referring to the on-camera kiss he's due to share with David Arquette during filming this week of the upcoming ABC series "In Case of Emergency."
Silverman and Arquette are 30-somethings whose lives haven't gone so well in the Jon Favreau show which turns out to have a lot of "big broad wacky sex farce" in it, to hear Silverman tell it.
Indeed, the guy-on-guy smooch will end, Silverman says, with his character saying, '"Boy, he kisses just like his mother!' " And that mother is none other than Jane Seymour, Jonathan's "Emergency" paramour, with whom he spent much of last week filming steamy romantic action.
Dr. Quinn? Say it ain't so!
"Oh, yes. Dr. Quinn has joined the cast and jumped in with both feet and other body parts, too. These are surprisingly explicit love scenes for network television. We played two days completely naked," Silverman says.
As for how their respective significant others feel about that, Jonathan lets us know that he and his fiancee, "Close to Home" star Jennifer Finnigan, and Jane and her husband, James Keach, wound up sitting next to each other at one of the last Dodger games of the season. "Jane asked forgiveness from Jennifer, and I asked forgiveness from Mr. Keach ó and we're all good friends now."
The January-debuting series has Greg Germann as "a diet guru who turns out to be a fraud," Arquette as "an Enron-type executive who's about to be indicted, Kelly Hu as a so-called therapist at a seedy mob-owned massage parlor and Lori Laughlin as an ER doctor. Silverman plays "a divorced greeting card writer who hasn't had a date since his wife left him, and for some reason I'm the one who keeps ending up naked." |
