KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Actress Jane Seymour described her experience on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" as unbelievable. Seymour was in Kansas City, Kan., on Saturday to promote items from her home furnishings collection. KMBC's Jere Gish reported that it is one of the many things she has going on right now. Recently, Seymour paired with Tony Dovolani and impressed the judges and viewers on "Dancing with the Stars." "That experience was unbelieable," Seymour said.
Seymour told Gish that she didn't do the show to advance her career. She did it for a personal reason. "When I was a little girl, all I wanted to do was dance and I thought before it's too late, I want to see if I would do this," Seymour said. Seymour was touched by tragedy during the dance competition when her mother passed away. The actress took a break from the show and then came back. She said dancing gave her an outlet during that difficult time. "From the moment I would go into the studio with Tony, he was such a task master, there was nothing I could do but focus on that. Then the moment I'd finish, I'd literally fall apart," Seymour said. Seymour said she went further on the show than she expected and appreciated the support of the fans. "Everywhere I go now, when I travel, people say, 'I voted for you. I voted for you.' I just go, 'Thank you!'" Seymour said. Seymour said that she keeps in touch with her former dance partner, but admitted that she doesn't dance much now. "The problem is when you dance with a world champion, it's kind of different when you go home and say, 'Honey, will you dance with me?'" Seymour said.
