Jane Seymour: Better Than Ever

For me, I enjoy just a little bit of coffee and a little bit of wine okay-–everything is okay in moderation. For example with my twins, one is big; one is skinny. The skinny one wanted Cocoa Puffs and the heavier one wanted them too. So I told the heavier one it was okay if he ate them slowly. It tricks your mind and he liked the idea of fooling your brain. For my facial regimen, I use Retinol by Natural Advantage at night and always wear sunscreen. I tried Retin-A once but I turned red and peeled. I also tried Botox a few years ago, but you can always see when someone does it. It made my eyebrows go up and looked awful. I did try it again for a second time to ease my frown lines, but it's not something I would do on a regular basis.

As an actress, I wouldn't do this all the time. But if you can get someone to give you just a little fix in the creases between your eyes, you will look less angry. It's good for a special occasion like a wedding or the Academy Awards. I also tried Restaylne for the little marks around my mouth. A lot of people go over the top and use too much of this. Personally, though, I want to grow old gracefully but this doesn't mean I won't change my mind if they come up with something more successful.

You're known for your long hair. Have you ever been tempted to cut it?

My hair has been getting shorter over the years but the truth is that I have long hair because it's easier for me to handle. I can throw it in a ponytail and tie it back if I want to paint or exercise. I can curl it or have it straight. I can even stick it under a wig. There are just so many options of what I can do with it. I have had short hair but it didn't give much variety.

I use Goldwell, put sunscreen in my hair, and wear hats to maintain color. I also use different styling products at different times. Phyto, EC Mode, is a good pack for damaged hair and Alterna products are good for styling. I wash my hair every day. When I wake up in the morning it's the first thing I do. I don't exist until I wash my hair and have a small cup of coffee.
When I was on Dr. Quinn , we used a lot of hairpieces. I don't do permanent extensions but elegant additions can be put in quickly and taken out quickly. I found it to be an excellent way to do a hairstyle that requires more bulk of hair than I actually had.
